Hope.

I see the rosebud, tender and tempting

Tight layers of smoothness and simplicity

vibrating with life

capturing imagination, then admiration

revealed in the mind’s eye, lids closed one moment more.

Rumi right.

Every once in a while, my daily reading reveals a gem … a cosmic connection to what’s actually going on in my mind. Here’s an example.

Who makes these changes?
I shoot an arrow right.
It lands left.
I ride after a deer
and find myself chased by a hog.
I plot to get what I want
and end up in prison.
I dig pits to trap others
and fall in.

I should be suspicious
of what I want.

Haiku you.

A human feeling

stands naked before critics

without tact for dress.

As Dorothy waved,

she bid the thoughtful Scarecrow

a special farewell.

Laced with fine design

glazed and fired and glazed again,

our vessel stands tall.

The treasures of Tut

rested patiently, waiting,

as man groped in sand.

My haiku is 32 years old.
